Dear Jeanne
At Griffith University, we have an Equity Committee which covers both staff
and student equity and equal employment opportunity issues. It meets
monthly through the year. It is chaired by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor
(Equity) and reports directly to the University Council. It is therefore a
major decision-making committee of the University. It has members
representing staff (union reps) and students (student rep council) as well
as representatives of the major academic and administrative elements in the
University. All faculties and administrative elements also have equity
sub-committees focused on planning and reporting for each particular
element. These report to the University Equity Committee.
