Dear Bridget, Sarah, Jack and colleagues,
At the Practitioners' Day (Saturday of the BERA 06
conference) we(Practitioner Research SIG) have been
asked to provide 6-8 round table discussions where a
practitioner (or pair) would be willing to discuss
their research:
1. The Background/need for the research;
2. Why and how the research arose;
3. The methodology adopted
4. Practical problems that arose, and how these were
addressed
5. Impact of the work.
We are asked to provide facilitators for discussion if
the practitioner felt unhappy about leading the group.
The idea is for the round-table-discussion to give
supportive feedback to the practitioner. It is not a
formal presentation like the main conference papers.
The Practitioner Day participants will choose the
"round-table" that most interests them.
Would you let me know if you could commit to one or
more round-tables?
I'm hoping Sarah, Bridget and Jack will suggest people
who would like to be involved.
Would any other colleagues who could recruit
researchers for these discussions kindly let me know
for co-ordination with Brenda Taggart(BERA Organising
Group).
Thank
Brian
