Subject: Conference 1st and 2nd June at York St John University
Dear colleagues,
Here is a further invitation to visit with us at York St John University on 1st and 2nd June 2011 for our Value and Virtue in Practice-Based Research Conference - see www.yorksj.ac.uk/value&virtue Please keep an eye on the website as it is expanding daily.
You are invited to submit an abstract of between 200-300 words to me, outlining the research you are doing in your workplace, within any field of work-based learning or practice-based research. Please drop me a line if I can provide further information about abstracts. We would appreciate it if you could send any abstracts by March 18th, to help us with planning and drawing up programmes, but we are happy to accept abstracts until the end of March if necessary. We will notify you of decisions as soon as possible. We are keeping costs to a minimum (£75.00) to help attendance.
The thinking behind the conference is that I have met many wonderful people around the world, working in action research and other methodologies, all doing terrific work, yet they don't get to meet one another. So here is an opportunity to celebrate our work together and to produce a great knowledge archive that will influence thinking and practices in our own contexts and beyond.
In addition you can see the beautiful historic city of York, go on a ghost walk, visit museums and other cultural centres, walk around historic York Minster (takes your breath away), and generally have a wonderful time.
Please connect if I can supply any further information. Hope to see you soon!
All good wishes,
Jean McNiff
