I replied to Beata about my experience with deaf learners in ESOL
classes. I am interested though in finding out more about what happens
in other colleges etc. We have great support from our BSL interpreters
and our deaf learners have integrated well into the classes. I'd like to
know how others get on as it is an area I would quite like to do some
more research on.

Subject: Hearing impaired ESOl students
Dear All
I wonder if anyone has any experience of working with deaf students who
would like to join a hearing ESOL classroom. For example, one possible
scenario is a profoundly deaf ESOL student at Entry 1, who is just
beginning to learn BSL, and who would also like to be part of an ESOL E1
class in F.E college.
If so, I'd be very grateful if you would be willing to share your ideas
with me directly:

Thank you
