Dear Dr. Whitehead:
Thank you for your kind words. Again I gained a great
deal of information from you and Dr. McNiff at the NYC
workshop. Please keep me informed on events concerning
Action Research at the University of Bath and the
University of Limerick in the United Kingdom.
At the AERA conference in NYC I had a brief
conversation with Howard Gardner, who was present at
at a book signing event in the Hiton Exhibit Hall.(His
new book is titled "Responsibility at Work"). Gardner
inquired about my area of research and when I answered
differentiated instruction - he inquired if I knew the
difference between the two (Meaning Multiple
Intelligence versus Differentiated Instruction).
Thanks to your Action Research workshop, I was able to
quickly respond to him that his MI theory was set and
could be transferred classroom to classroom, where
differentiated instruction is in the process of
becoming a theory.
I thought I would share this encounter.
Please keep me informed as to the events in the
international community of educational research.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Cynthia
