We like the concept of Study Scan, and are discussing including it in our
range. But have also been concerned by the pricing (as are ISL who have put
a lot of resources into developing something with a fairly finite market).
I know that they are considering a number of options includig charging per
use, rather than a flat rate. Do people have a view as to what would be a
reasonable price per use? This would presumably have to be separate, both
for the Quick Scan module (a basic diagnosis which is designed to be self
administered by any student on the network) and the full Study Scan report
(which is designed to diagnose learning strengths and weaknesses and make
suggestions for study skills and accomodations). And what about the admin
overhead of a price-per-use model? And how would it fit in with your
budgets/finances?

ISL will need to look at the cost carefully I feel otherwise no one will
subscribe! I think there is a good case for collaboration between
institutes
on this, though not at this price probably. With others I am currently
looking at possible ways of inter-institute collaboration which could use
StudyScan if we feel that it is useful, and will let people know if we come
up with an acceptable model.
