Job title: ESOL Trainer/ICT Tutors
Based at: Lambeth (Various)
Responsible to: Employment, Education and Training manager and Education and Training Coordinator
Starting date: January 2018
Contract: Self Employed
Salary: £26 per hour

JOB PURPOSE:
To plan and deliver bespoke ESOL/ICT courses and courses leading to qualifications in accordance with the quality improvement standards of the awarding organisations, funders and High Trees CDT.
High trees CDT keeps a list of approved tutors who are contracted to plan and deliver courses. Inclusion in the list of approved tutors does not guarantee the offer of work.
MAIN DUTIES:
1. To plan, teach and evaluate training as agreed with the line manager and to agreed policy and standards.
2. To support learners through providing accurate and appropriate information, advice and guidance about study, qualifications, and learning
needs (including additional learning needs).
3. To promote the safety and well-being of all learners.
4. To work in co-operative and creative partnership with funders.
5. To provide assessment of learners’ skills and knowledge in compliance with Assessment Policy.
6. To participate in assessment quality assurance activity as required (standardisation and moderation/verification).
7. To meet set deadlines and organise own workload and priorities.
8. To complete course paperwork within deadlines as required including; registration documentation, evaluation, feedback and any other
documentation required.
9. To reflect on own performance and continuously seek ways to improve effectiveness of teaching and assessment.
10. To carry out professional development activities and training to ensure that statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
11. To undertake any other duties as may reasonably be requested.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
The Trainer/Tutor will:
1. Hold a recognised teaching qualification minimum Level 3. (DELTA/CELTA/TESOL/PGCE/Cert Ed are desirable.)
2. Be knowledgeable and have an understanding and experience of teaching ESOL/ICT to adults.
3. Have confidence in the use of ICT for communication purposes and to promote teaching, learning and assessment
4. Be up to date in her or his knowledge and understanding of the subject matter of the courses and qualifications to be taught and, where
appropriate of the needs and concerns of employers.
5. Have confidence and effectiveness in verbal communication
6. Be able to communicate in writing with accuracy and conciseness.
7. Have an understanding of and a commitment to equality of access and opportunity, to anti-discriminatory practice and safeguarding policy
and procedures.
8. Have a commitment to promoting the ethos and philosophy of High Trees CDT
9. Be able to meet set deadlines and organise own workload and priorities.
