Hi Clare
Our Lives Press also have a very good range of books. Information from the website:
The books in the series are by authors from different cultures - from Somalia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Congo, Albania and Ethiopia - about their experiences in their own countries and in Britain. The authors describe how they have overcome a variety of barriers, learnt a new language and succeeded in making a new life for themselves.
These short and inspirational books provide ideal reading material for those who want to improve their English language and literacy skills and will also appeal to anyone interested in the moving stories of refugees and migrants.
We have them in our library and they are popular, not only with ESOL learners.

Hi Clare
Learning Unlimited's recently published readers would be perfect for learners at lower levels - http://www.learningunlimited.co/resources/acereaders
Gatehouse Publications has also produced readers aimed at ESOL learners at different levels. For more advanced readers - the Reading Agency's Quick Reads have a nice range of high interest / low readability books many of which are abridged versions of popular fiction and non-fiction - including the abridged memoir 'I am Malala'. ESOL Nexus has a couple of lesson plans based on Quick Reads too - https://esol.britishcouncil.org/content/teachers/lessons-and-activities/lesson-plans/improving-your-reading-quick-reads-books that teachers could use / adapt / replicate for other books
I hope this helps

Can anyone recommend books that you use with beginner or intermediate ESOL learners? Ive been approached by Leeds Central Library who would like to add some to their stock. I realise beginner learners especially, would need support from a person but with this in mind do you have any books you would recommend.
I really like the New Eastenders Series as a simple reader but this seems to be out of print at the moment. Does anyone know differently?
Looking forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions.
Clare
