At the end of November we had an 'ESOL - The Power of Language' day at our college to raise the profile of our ESOL students and give them an opportunity to speak about the cuts happening at both a national and local (within the college) level. It was great to see students take the reigns. They invited the local MP, Andy Slaughter to attend, after meeting him at Parliament on the 15th October lobby, and he came along and he encouraged the students to 'keep fighting'! They also made an ESOL tree inspired by Barnet and Southgate college which we put up in central reception lobby.
One of our Entry 2 students who was a cameraman in his country decided to make a short film to show on the day. He did all the filming, directing, editing etc in his free time and I thought it would be good to share his creation. All the students who took part in the film are very proud their contribution and are keen for the film to be shared widely so please feel free to watch with your classes - it might inspire them to make a film for themselves.
