Dear ESOL Forum,
Thank you for your emails regarding the November changes for ILR and
naturalisation. My email may sound very direct and I apologise if I
offend anyone, but if awarding bodies, colleges and training providers
want to stop this monopolisation, the only way will be a Judicial
Review. Legal action will make the Home Office stop and listen. (A
Judicial Review is a type of court proceeding in which a judge reviews
the lawfulness of a decision or action made by a public body.) It is my
belief that the Home Office has not acted lawfully in making this
decision and therefore we are left with no other option.
Judicial Reviews are expensive, but if the cost is shared between us
all, it would be manageable. I would suggest setting up a Crowd Funding
page to raise the necessary monies. It would advise to instruct the same
barrister ESB previously instructed when they took the Home Office to
Judicial Review.
If you really want to stop the Home Office it has to be Judicial Review.
I look forward to the forum's opinions.
Best wishes,
Stuart
