Thank you very much Karina!
The NATECLA London team worked hard to provide 10 workshops to over 100 delegates and 12 exhibitors. It was our biggest event to date! The feedback we collected on the day was overwhelmingly positive and we are particularly delighted to have been able to involve current and ex-students to contribute so much on the day.
Justice for Domestic Workers gave a particularly moving account of the amazing work that they do, like their page on Facebook and support them if you can.. They are run by ex-ESOL students!
The food was truly gorgeous! And the support we received from City and Islington College for this was outstanding. We are extremely grateful to our co-sponsor and contributors for the day (Ascentis, City and Guilds, ESB, ESOL, Global ELT and Trinity College london), they helped us keep the costs low and made our event affordable.
The only regret is not to have been able to accommodate everyone. We had a waiting list and people emailing us on the day literally begging to attend... Something for us to think about for our next event in February which will be announced on this forum very shortly.
If you haven't yet booked your radio skills workshop there is still time, the first workshop is on Saturday 22nd November 2.30 -4.30 pm and is limited to 4 people maximum so that you can really have a go at being on air and presenting your own radio show. You can claim this as part of your personal development through your college CPD. Click here to book https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/radio-presenting-skills-tickets-14175584555?aff=eorg
The presentations of the day and information about the conference will shortly appear on our regional website www.nateclaldn.wordpress.com
If you use twitter we used #ESOLPAM as the Hashtag for the day...
The current team was re-elected unanimously at the AGM, with the exception of a new secretary. Angela Shaffer Head of Quality at Elatt is a very new and welcome addition the small London team.
Phil Bird and Elaine Williamson were thanked and praised for being Co-secretaries and supporting the branch since its inception.
As we are getting bigger we need more volunteers to help us organise our events and support the branch activities. No one gets paid for organising our events in London and the entire London branch is run solely by volunteers ... So do come and support us if you can. The more the merrier ...
Finally, the Ruth Hayman Trust raised £171 on the day!
Hip hip hip HOORAY! Hip hip hip HOORAY! Hip hip hip HOORAY!
