Hello everyone,
I wonder if anyone can help?
I was looking over the proposed changes to the ESOL requirements for those applying for settlement after October 2013. I believe everyone applying for settlement after this date must pass the life in the UK test and also pass an ESOL speaking and listening exam at B1 (E3)
However, this paragraph is confusing
"If you already have leave to enter or remain in the UK, on the basis of being the spouse or partner of a settled person, you will need to meet the rules which were in force before 9 July 2012 if you apply for settlement."
Does this mean that those who are applying for settlement after Oct 2013 but had leave to enter before 9th July 2012 they can apply under the old system? i.e. Entry Level ESOL skills for life without the Life in the UK test
