Thank you, Jack, for this feast of information about what happened at BERA 2011. I shall be sending this to all at TES here in South Africa.
When one cannot be there, the videos are a very good second best. Three cheers for technology that can fill gaps ...
Take care
Joan

Subject: Loving Wisdom in Explanations of Educational Influence - developing a cooperative enquiry?
Last week's Conference of the British Educational Research Association at the Institute of Education of the University of London, included presentations from Sonia, Je Kan, Marie, Nigel, Chris, Joan, (with Bernie Hughes and Janice Darkes-Sutcliffe) and myself.
In the attached file I've put together a collage of our images with urls to our presentations at BERA and in other contexts (I've included presentations from Andy, Alan, Jacqueline, William, Phil, Maureen, Anat, Steve, Mark (Anat & Maureen - I intend to add your video-clips later).
It is my first attempt to see if the inclusion of visual expressions of our presentations enable the pooling of energy that Sonia has drawn our attention to. I'm also fascinated by the possibility of including loving wisdom in explanations of our educational influences (I'm thinking of philosophy as loving wisdom). As I've watched the video-clips and listened to what is being said I want to do more to spread the influence of our energy, values and understandings in making the world a better place to be.
I'm wondering if a cooperative enquiry where we explore the inclusion of loving wisdom in our explanations of educational influence might help us to make this contribution? I do like Mark's and Steve's idea of living citizenship and William's 10 minute video on the KeynshamKind project. I think that both relate closely to Joan's commitment to her responsibility towards the well-being of all.
