Can I just assure members of the group that there are NO proposals on the
table to completely merge level 5 subject specialist training for ESOL and
literacy teachers. The exisating single subject specialisms will remain.
The propoasl is to also create a joint qualification for teachers of ESOL
and literacy, which would facilitate dual specialism. This would be likely
(Of course) to be a larger qualification. The review of teacher training
qualifications has just got under way and if you would like to contribute to
the discussion you should download the review documents at:
http://www.lluk.org/4760.htm These clarify what is being proposed
Best wishes

Subject: Level 5 ESOL Diplomas
I teach the Level 5 Additional Diploma in ESOL (and Literacy) and would
interested in insights into/opinions about the following:
1. How do you feel about current proposals to integrate completely the ESOL
and Literacy Diplomas?
2. What is your experience of using the various awarding bodies for the
ESOL Diploma?
Thanks
Wendy
