Hi Linnea (and all) - many thanks for your introduction and the url for Inquiry in Education - I've added this link to the Other Homepages of Interest section of actionresearch.net - see http://www.actionresearch.net/otherpages.shtml .
I think that you will enjoy the activities of the Action Research Unit at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa, Directed by Prof. Lesley Wood. You can access the programme for the latest conference at the Unit on the 19th-20th August 2010 directly from http://www.actionresearch.net/writings/southafrica/NMMUARUprog1920aug10.pdf - I've also added the link to the programme from the What's New section of http://www.actionresearch.net .
I'll see what I can find out about Scotland's national practitioner research initiative.
I've been most impressed by the research at Dublin City University supported by Margaret Farren and Yvonne Crotty in ICT and multi-media accounts in action research. Yvonne is Directing the 2011 Conference of DIVERSE (Developing Innovative Visual Resources for Students Everywhere, 28-30th June 2011 on the theme of Creativity - Enhancing Our Vision Of The Future). You can access details from the What's New section of http://www.actionresearch.net or directly from http://diverse2011.dcu.ie/welcome.html . I'm hoping that as many of us as can make it will be able to meet up in Dublin next June.

When Martin Dobson, a colleague in the Department of Education
at the University of Bath, died in 2002 the last thing he said to me
was 'Give my Love to the Department'. In the 20 years I'd worked with
Martin it was his loving warmth of humanity that I recall with great life
affirming pleasure and I'm hoping that in Love Jack we can share this
value of common humanity.
