Last year's focus for the practitioner-researcher e-seminar on explanations
of educational influence in learning led to last Thursday's Keynote
Symposium on Explicating A New Epistemology For Educational Knowledge With
Educational Responsibility at the British Educational Research Association
Annual Conference at the University of Manchester.
The focus for the 2009-10 e-seminar is on Creating An Educational
Epistemology For Educational Knowledge With Educational Responsibility.
As an introduction to this year's e-seminar I think you will enjoy Jane
Renowden responding to a question about the legitimation of teachers’
knowledge in the above keynote symposium on the 4th September.

I also think that you will enjoy Margaret Farren's individual presentation
at the BERA conference on:
'Crossing the epistemological divide between self-study and work-place
learning through the use of digital technologies.' on the 5th September:

On 7 Sep 2009, at 09:45, Karen Alexandra Mary Thompson wrote about a
'Creative Curriculum':
"Also if there is anything anyone could add, change or improve let us know!
Its all still a work in progress and I develop the practice as things change
......I also still struggle with quantitative assessment data and providing
stats which reflect the impact of work in arts and culture!! "
It might be that both Karen and Brendan and those of us who are interested
in developing a creative curriculum with our students could engage in an
on-line enquiry about the nature of the explanations of our educational
influences in our own learning and in the learning of others as we develop a
creative curriculum with our students and for ourselves.
Looking forward very much to our ongoing conversations and echoing an e-mail
from Marie
of the 7 Sep 2009, at 10:58:
"...looking forward to the e-seminar on the practitioner list starting up
with the follow on from the symposium with Jane and Maggie developing their
multimedia narratives in the conversation."
Love Jack.
