I don't think you can transfer the credits easily. There's many level 5 tutors on the list who hopefully will reply. Alternatively, stand your ground and refuse to do the level 5. Your MA TESOL surely qualifies you as a subject specialist in your field. Colleges are quick to push experienced and well-qualified tutors into the level 5 training to increase funding and attendance in their own in-house training.

Subject: Subcject specialism in ESOL and accreditation of previous learning
Hello all,
I have a query regarding subject specialism. I have completed my MA TESOL degree at the University of Leeds.Recently I have been enrolled by my employer on a level 5 additional diploma in ESOL course and I can see that some of the modules-such as investigating first and second language aquisition and teaching receptive and productive skills are on my module list for this new programme.Has anyone tried to have their prior credits transferred towards their subject specialism?I would have to submit some of the assignments covering the same topics as before.
I have 2 years of ESOL experience gained at a college/training provider.I wonder if someone has had a similar situation. Is there a deadline by which we must get the subject specialism?
Hope you can help.
kasia
