Hi there
I thought you might be interested in my experience. I have a MA and quite a number of years experience so looked into GRPPLS (?!) and discovered it would be considerably less work and time and possibly work of a more rewarding kind than the Level 5. It is definitely aimed at those with quite a lot of experience, which is something to bear in mind. In the end I chose to do the Level 5 for the simplicity of having the qualification on my CV for the future. One consideration was that if I was to apply for a new position it could be a requirement (a box to be ticked). GRPPLS would have allowed me to continue with my job, but wouldn't actually have given me the formal qualification that I 'lacked'.
Good luck with your own decision.
Katy

Hello all,
I have a query regarding subject specialism. I have completed my MA TESOL degree at the University of Leeds.Recently I have been enrolled by my employer on a level 5 additional diploma in ESOL course and I can see that some of the modules-such as investigating first and second language aquisition and teaching receptive and productive skills are on my module list for this new programme.Has anyone tried to have their prior credits transferred towards their subject specialism?I would have to submit some of the assignments covering the same topics as before.
I have 2 years of ESOL experience gained at a college/training provider.I wonder if someone has had a similar situation. Is there a deadline by which we must get the subject specialism?
Hope you can help.
kasia
