Hello all
This is an open invitation to come along to the next meeting of the ESOL Materials Group. The meeting is on Monday 15 June, 5.30 to 7.30, in room 8.94, EC Stoner Building, University of Leeds.
The ESOL Materials Group is a new teacher-led group dedicated to the collaborative development of ESOL teaching and learning materials that are particularly appropriate and relevant for students in - broadly - the Yorkshire area. These materials we produce will be freely available to teachers, and will be found on the 'Up North' section of the ESOL UK website: http://www.esoluk.co.uk/ . Our web pages are currently in development but will be available online soon. We are keen to open up the group to more ESOL teachers who would like to get involved. Please forward this message to your colleagues if you wish.
In the meeting on 15 June Stephen Woulds will be bringing microphones/headphones, enabling us to record our own conversations. No prior knowledge of the technology is assumed, however!
To get to the EC Stoner building: From the Parkinson steps (main University of Leeds entrance), turn right, go straight down the hill past Hillary Place to the EC Stoner building, the very large building straight ahead. Room 8.94 is on Level 8, towards the left end of the building as you look at it from the Parkinson Steps.
EC Stoner Building is number 23 on the map at this link.
