Thank you, Jean. Your story brought tears to my eyes, and reminded me again
of what matters. The Maori people in New Zealand have a saying: 'What is
important in life? It is people, people, people!'
To reach out to others, and for them to reach out to you, is one of the
most blessed human experiences to my mind. And it's that which makes me
love education, love teaching, love China and all the reaching out I
encountered and did there. Your story brought China back to me, and the
many wonderful experiences I had in England with children in classrooms.
A beautiful story, that I can see as offering the beating heart of our
enquiries. Hearts have pretty canny ways of knowing too.
Love and thanks again, Jean.
