Hi Ibrar
The attached papers address issues of L2 writing mediated through technology and paper-based methods. Unfortunately, they are not UK based.

Subject: Protocol Analysis
Hi, all
I am currently conducting an analysis of second-language writing, comparing errors and strategies of ESOL learners whilst conducting both computer-based and equivalent paper-based writing tasks. The study is for my Ma, and will, I hope, develop much further. I hope to use 'think-aloud protocols' as a data source (in line with Ericsson & Simon, 1993), or 'stimulated retrospective protocols' (in line with Bosher, 1998) where statements are collected from learners who recall their writing processes while watching their own videotaped writing behaviors.
I have yet to see a UK based ESOL research project that utilised this/these methods, and was wondering if any ESOL researcher/tutor has. If so, I would really like to know how that person carried it out.
Any suggestions?
Have a good holiday
