Cambridge University Press
ELT Development Editor, Applied Linguistics
Salary: £23,127 - £25,272 p.a.
We are looking for an editor to help develop our Applied Linguistics books, possibly in conjunction with other areas of our ELT publishing. The editor will be responsible for
taking projects through all stages of development and production. The work will include detailed copy-editing as well as working with authors, freelance editors and external reviewers on content. The role also involves working closely with the Commissioning Editor to plan and research future publishing.
Candidates should have a recognised EFL qualification and experience of English language teaching. The post requires a very high level of English and an eye for detail, as well as excellent organisational and communication skills. A postgraduate qualification in Applied Linguistics is desirable but not essential, as long as candidates can demonstrate a good knowledge of the field and an enthusiasm for the subject. Experience in publishing is not essential, as full training will be given, but candidates selected for interview will be asked to complete copy-editing tasks to assess their suitability for the role. The job will be based in Cambridge.
Please write with full c.v. quoting LW8/27 to Lizzy Wall, HR Officer, Cambridge University Press, The Edinburgh Building, Shaftesbury Road, CB2 8RU The closing date for applications is 3 March 2008.
