Subject: PLEASE SIGN A PETITION AGAINST DEPORTATIONS TO CONGO
The following simple petition is on the Prime Minister's website.
We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to stop the current wave
of
deportation of D. R. Congolese nationals whose asylum application has
failed.
It can be accessed by clicking on the link below.

So far, there are only 157 signatures, and the deadline to sign up by is
11
June 2007. I would urge you to sign it. It doesn't take long, and I
think it
is likely to reach the ear of government quite effectively if it does
get
more support. There are many Congolese asylum seekers in danger of
deportation, where they may be imprisoned and face torture, rape and
other
maltreatment, and they need our support.
You must be a British citizen or resident to sign the petition, but
those
who are not could promote it by encouraging others to sign it.
Apologies for cross-posting or contacting you again if you've already
signed.
