Hi Pip/Everyone,
I am feeling really happy. Someone just sent me a photo of their 6 year old smiling 'all over'! Isn't
it amazing and wonderful how a child can smile as a whole being? That's what I call 'inclusional'!
Your email, Pip, reassured me that I am still welcome on this list. I haven't had that impression ..
by responding to my question about awareness you have set my mind productively in action again.
My thesis was about my professional muliplicity as a teacher, mentor and researcher and how I
came to an awareness not only of my multiplicity but of how I might seek to improve aspects of
my multiplicity by conscious effort. In particular I self-studied how I developed my skills, values
and understandings as a researcher learning to engage with others ideas. I wrote how I brought
together my multiplicity once I felt my 'embodied mind' components would be able to merge as an
educator. Hence my thesis investigated deconstruction and reconstruction of self as an 'educator'.
Thus, it was about my growing awareness (with valdatory statements from others) and action too?
I think we need to review the purpose of this list - if it IS for discussion it must be inclusional for
us all with no petty exclusions because of past hurts - no 'I don't speak to HER or HIM because she
or he challenged my ideas'. Surely? One of my happiest memories was of Yacuub (Paul) with your
students the day you invited me to help ensure an action research MA programme would continue
- and many happy memories of working with you Jack especially when we co-organised Martin's
farewell do. His words despite such suffering speak across time and space for us all Give my love!
Thanks Pip - your email inspires! Do let's ensure whoever posts they'll get a supportive response,
Sarah
