We subscribe to Lawtel and in our legal dept library we have a copy of
the Encyclopaedia of Data Protection (4 volumes) published by Sweet &
Maxwell who issue regular updates. Think this is also available on CD.

Copies of the Data Protection Act (or any other piece of legislation)
as amended are available through publications known as"statutes in
force". These are sold by commercial companies and are usually
available in academic libraries. Our University currently subscribes to
a legal database called Westlaw which provides up-to-date versions of
statutes, including the DPA. I am not sure what other providers there
are out there.

The likelihood of any public body doing something like this is quite
limited, as your tone implies.
Could I propose that this group is knowledgeable and proactive enough
to
submit all of the statutory instruments and amendments of which we are
collectively aware, and then at least something approaching a list
might
emerge? For example, as an easy start, you have Sections 69 - 73 and
Schedule 6 of the Freedom of Information Act.
If other contributors were willing, I would be happy to monitor this
thread
and compile a list of the suggestions, which after a reasonable period,
I
could publish on the thread. I would also do some searching on OPSI
and
other sources to see what else I could find. That way, we might not get
the
whole thing, but it would be better than anything that's out there
already.
