My problem with many of the contributors to NANAE (and UK.legal) is stuff
like this...
"Legal or not has nothing to do with it being spam. It's about consent, a
purchased mailing list cannot have the consent of the listees"... [I thought
about directing this contributor to the IC Guidance, but then feared for my
IP address so didn't - intimidated!]
Just how close to vigilantism is this?
If someone mugged the posty as he left my building and destroyed all my
direct mail ('legal or not'), how long do you think it would take to lock
this person up? Yet we seem to accept that people can do exactly this to
our e-mail marketing.
"I don't care whether that Innovations catalogue is legal, it's not getting
passed me!!!"
A dangerous precedent.
