From memory,
due to the volume of requests for data this type of enquiry generates, most
organisations, including the police, apply some form of filter to manage
that volume.
e.g. A request must come directly from the magistrates clerk, and the
disclosure is directly to the magistrates clerk, who then becomes the data
controller of the disclosed information.
