I suspect the phrase is derived from Schedule1, Part ll,
paragraph 5 which speaks of "a notice given for the purposes of
paragraph 2 by the data controller to the data subject".
Paragraph 2 says that data are not to be treated as processed
fairly unless ..... the information in sub-paragraph (3) has been
given ....etc.
Hence put the two bits together and you have a fair processing
notice.
