Just to widen this responsiveness and accessibility discussion a little I
seem to remember the OIC report promising that a new style (and hopefully
more user friendly) website would be up and running by now, but as yet no
sign.
Will the new site include a JISC type facility which will enable those in
the community to be updated by -e-mail. Of course any improvement on the
current cumbersome system for checking whats new (all too often to find
that nothing has changed on the site in response to significant
developments) is to be welcomed.
Of course the website is only a tool. What really needs to happen is that
the Commissioner's Office takes on responsibility for working in
partnership with other bodies to facilitate discussion and co-ordinate a
knowledge web. All this can be done whilst reserving its position and
independence.
In the meantime we can all continue to hone our detective skills finding
out whats happening.
