Richard, you can't ask anyone "what do you want it for?" as no-one has to
'tell you why they want to know how to make an application' nor does anyone
making an application need to tell you why they want to access their files.
Its an absolute right under sections 7 to 9 of DPA (with limited
exceptions) and that's all there is to it!
I think most SAR are from people who have a (real or imagined) grievance
with the organisation - but what is gained by being obstructive? Surely that
just reinforces an already negative view?
