The worrying thing about this is that it (claims) to override the
setting on your email client which normally allows you to say whether
receipt/read requests are satisfied or not. I think it is bad practice
and I shall look for ways to defeat this.
Fortunately MS Exchange defeats it (according to the website) so that's
only my personal email which may need attention.

Jim

My e-mail is set to tell me when a message is displayed on the
receiver's screen and if it was deleted without being read. However, it
tells me that it was deleted without being read if the receiver has read
it in the preview box.

I've just been reading in a DMA newsletter about an email service that
purports to be able to report to you whether an email you sent was read,
destroyed, not opened, and if opened for how long. Also reports whether
it was forwarded to someone else and what they did with it - all without
the recipient knowing about it.
The French have said it is illegal in France - breaches their privacy
law.
Anyone know any more about this? There was an article about it in The
Daily Telegraph in May so perhaps I'm just a bit behind the times on
this one!
