hi
having asked 2 "dancers" they both feel that the person should know the
routine without having to think left/right. the routine should be practiced
often enough to be "second nature" with the dancer knowing the moves rather
than thinking which step comes next.
this will not really help if the instructor is teaching steps by shouting
left/right, but watching/copying the rest of the class in these situations
was suggested.
further to the suggestion of a garter. perhaps a small electrical charge,
like a cattle prod, would help to distinguish left from right and also speed
up the dance routine if necessary
cheers

Subject: Help with left/right confusion in dance practice
Has anyone any experience of recommending support / assistance to a student
who experiences left / right confusion in dance routines?
