Working with the Opportunities Through Technology Group, this new and
challenging post will be primarily concerned with the co-ordination
and delivery of individually tailored programmes in Information
Technology for a small group of students with physical and/or
sensory disabilities. This will involve visiting students both
at college and at home, facilitating access to resources and
information, and developing links with employers and support agencies.
Candidates need to be empathic and conversant with the needs of the
student group. A high level of IT literacy, including familiarity
with electronic communications, specialised computer adaptations,
and some experience of IT training, is essential. You will also
need to have some understanding of industrial and voluntary work
opportunities for people with sensory and motor difficulties and
be a car owner/driver willing to use your own vehicle for business use.
