It is international disability day on 3 December. this is a good time to
plan activities which involve a range of university services including the
library and students union.
Universities we work with, Salford and UMIST, are inviting students with
disabilities from local schools and colleges in to find out information
about disability services and other provision in the uni. Salford are
involving non-disabled students as part of their courses such as leisure and
catering students to run a programme of events which include sporting and
lunch activities and also using existing students as guides and helpers for
the day. There will also be introductory lectures. A lot of organising is
involved but I think it is an excellent
idea.
