People may like to know that we have just updated our comparison of the
various dictation products at http://www.dyslexic.com/dictcomp.htm and
http://www.dyslexic.com/dictcmp1.htm. I'd be very happy to hear any
comments, differing opinions etc.
The established view is that the best answer for complete voice control is
Dragon Professional (or Naturally Speaking Preferred + DragonDictate V3,
which, from this point of view, amounts to nearly the same thing). A bit
complex as you have the continuous speech and discrete speech programs both
running at the same time and you really need at least 128MB RAM. Dragon is
working to integrate all the command and control into Naturally Speaking,
but haven't got there yet.
The latest ViaVoice has pretty comprehensive command and control, but still
not up to DragonDictate standard. There is still nothing to beat Dragon's
mousegrid (which you get with NS preferred) for mouse control by voice.
