Dear Sarah,
I have successfully argued for the cost of a dyslexia assessment which was
intended to establish amount of extra time needed in an exam, to be
covered by DSA. The student in question did have an old assessment
obtained when she was 16 or so I think, but it did not give any advice on
extra time in exams and so the University asked for another one. My
argument was that this assessment was not to find out whether the student
had dyslexia - this was known - but what exam allowances she should have.
Hope this helps.
