Following what I wrote this morning, I think I again need to ask if
anyone has any idea as to WHO we are testing and planning to test in the UK.
I am currently listening today's update from our PM and his
medical/scientific advisors. We are being told of the tens of
thousands of tests per day that we are doing, or planning to do in
the near future, and I still don't understand who are going to
undergo these tests (clearly not contacts of the 80% or whatever of
infected people who have been told 'not to show themselves').
In explaining the importance of widespread testing, the Chief
Scientific Officer seemed to imply that one of the main purposes was
to get a handle of the prevalence of the virus in the asymptomatic
population. Whilst that would clearly be interesting/valuable
information for a number of reasons, is he really talking about
undertaking random tests on the 'healthy' population - or what??
Kind Regards, John
John
