Hi
Re Economic costs, finance.
thanks for the discussion. I could do without the sarcasm though (Paul Thompson). Instead of this talk about Fairies why not just ask yourself Factually how the government got all that money? UK similar to USA has come up with powerful rescue schemes. It is our government, and we own and control it, collectively as a society.
The Economist (so strong a neoliberal magazine that it calls Corbyn a populist, which is simply wrong according to the scientific use of the term populist) has weighed in on the finance debate.
They are now saying that a whole new system of finance is needed for each country to get through the pandemic time.
Google it.
They very much favour the solution of general subsidy on living through the pandemic.
Please, no Flaming Emails. TakE your time, do some deep thinking and some research, before replying.
If people are upset this week, just wait till 3 weeks from now!

people are also going to die during the lockdown, if my forecast is even
remotely close. The questions which Paul is not asking are:
A) If there is no lockdown, could the NHS cope?
B) If the answer to A) is "no", can the NHS cope if there is a lockdown?
C) If the answer to B) is "yes" or at least "maybe", how long does the
lockdown need to last in order for the NHS to be able cope, not just
during the lockdown itself but with the aftermath until the next lockdown?
Although I am more than willing to assign blame, these questions are not
about that.
