That's not particularly my view, and certainly not the point I was
trying to make.
As I said, one would normally expect/hope, that 'real-time'
information, of considerable importance to the citizens of the
country in question, would be provided by local sources within the
country. If cases started appearing in/near my village, or somewhere
in the UK to where I were contemplating travelling, I would expect to
learn that, as early as possible, from local sources and not to have
to rely on a US organisation to tell me.
As I also said, if there are any countries not able to themselves
provide such 'regularly updated' information to their citizens, then
it would be good if CDC could provide such a service for them - but
I'm not sure whether there are (m)any such countries.
For example ... I haven't studied in detail what the CDC are doing,
but if they are still attempting to update their data throughout the
day in relation o, say, China, I would suggest that this is probably
largely wasted effort - because the information is not going to be of
hardly any interest/value to anyone (since they would be happy to
wait a few hours for the next 'daily' figures to be published).
