OK. I've now looked at the top 11 non-China countries (including US)
and, rather than litter this e-mail with all those graphs, provide
them as an attachment. Enjoy!
In all cases I have, as previously discussed, 'displaced' the WHO
figures back by one day. When I do that, for the top 10 countries
(other than US), the JHU and WHO curves are essentially identical (to
the extent that the WHO line disappears behind in JHU one in a good
few cases!) for all those countries. Even for the US, the curves are
quite close and, as I said yesterday, I would expect the 'home
country' figures to be more up-to-date than anything else - i.e.
would expect the JHU figures to be greater than WHO ones.
I therefore think that if you take the 1-day difference into account,
you can be reassured that, certainly for all countries other than the
US, the JHU and WHO figures are essentially identical, hence
presumably 'equally accurate' (however accurate that may be!)

Do you mean that the cut-off time for data published by JHU which is
called, say, "05 March" data has a cut-off of 23:59 on 05 March? If
so, that is just one minute short of 15 hours later than the WHO
cut-off for what they call "05 March data" - hence going a very long
way to explaining the 1-day difference in the data (when viewed in
relation to the date they attach to it).
Kind Regards,
