At the most basic of levels, you presumably understand the
difference. The "Centres for Disease Control and Prevention" ('CDC')
is a US government agency (of which I don't think there is really a
direct UK equivalent), whilst "Johns Hospital University' ('JHU') is
a university.
It was me who introduced the confusion, by (for some reason!)
starting type "CDC" when I meant "JHU" (the latter being the US
source of Covid-19 data I have been using, and comparing with the
WHO-provided data).
