As I wrote soon after these discussions got going, I was a little
surprised that neither you nor anyone else had intervened by that
time. As I said then, I would have moved the discussion of list at
the time had I not had a suspicion that some list members might be
interested in following the ongoing discussions. Whilst I would
still be happy to move my part of the discussions off-list, it seems
from the responses you have now obtained that there are at least a
few list members who would like it to continue on-list.
As has been said, everyone has a delete key, and the content of
messages is clear from the Subject lines, so no-one needs to even
open one if they don't want to. Gone are the days when issues about
speed/cost of downloading e-mails, or storage capacity, were
considerations relevant to restrictions of e-mail traffic!
On a practical point, if the discussion does remain on-list, given
the problem that a couple of people have had with (in-line') images
embedded in my messages, would people prefer me to send any further
graphical images as attachments, rather than embed them? (and if you
wish to express a preference about this, maybe you should reply to be
'off-list'!).
Kind Regards,
John
