The RTDP raises some interesting questions for retail organisations.
Whilst account data provided by the customer is clearly suppliable and a profile created is not, what about purchase data? This would typically include details of the item, price paid, where and when purchased. Which of these were "supplied" by the customer and which were derived? If a special discount was negotiated (perhaps because a previous purchase failed outside of warranty), is this supplied or derived data? I could go on.
The RTDP works for (e.g.) utilities, and is like the UK "Midata" initiative, and for other service providers such as banks, but in other sectors the scope opens up to question.
