Hi,
I have allowed police to view full files under a s.29 form and to write notes but NOT to take copies of any material.
This allows them to go back to the CPS and say, "This is all the stuff we think is relevant."
If they wanted copies of anything they would have to submit a completed Annex C (previously Annex B) form under the 2013 Protocol for "Disclosure of information in cases of alleged child abuse and linked criminal and care directions hearings" if the case related to an offence against a child or vulnerable adult, or provide a court order. Alternatively, we would require a court order.
