Unfortunately no, however there is another way.
Convert the (I presume) PDF into a Word document first, then using one of the highlighters select the text required, then using 'Collect Highlights' extract just those sections into a new document.
Voila!

Subject: Text-to-speech and Author-date reference systems
Dear All,
One of the students I support is having difficulty using TextHelp Read and Write's text-to-speech function to read scientific papers as these contain so many in-text references in the author-date format that it breaks up the sentences so that the sense is lost. Does anyone know if there is a way of getting TextHelp to not read out citations or miss out anything in parentheses for example?
Any strategies which you can think of would be very helpful.
