It's fairly clear the ones they've just released were taken "some time
last summer" (both from the context[1] and the press announcements). But
no doubt when they do "fill-ins" of other towns it will become less
obvious even which year it was.
[1] There are numerous micro-clues, like the day of the week from bins
being put out, the time from shadows and clocks in shop windows, and
term-time if there are children walking to school or in the playground.
