Chris,
My question was, are you saying that the DSA cannot be used to fund the
cost of an interpreter for assistive technology training? I made it clear
I was not referring to delivery/set-up. I was not referring to interpreter
provision in the DSA needs assessment itself either.
I am interested to know the answer because you have SLC in your email
address and the SLC will be processing the DSA needs assessment reports
for 2009/10 students and beyond. I have concerns about a possible
comparator – I sometimes recommend that the student’s mentor is present
during some of the training (eg students with anxiety or concentration
issues). I am wondering if this is not an acceptable recommendation
because the trainer should have anticipated the possibility of having to
deliver a service to such a client?
