Leaving aside the legal issues, what would be the justification for the
student to record the children's activities? Has the student thought of
the practical implications of trying to record lots of children running
around?
Depending on the specifics of the student's diagnostic evidence I'd also
be far from convinced that this is a worthwhile strategy.

Hi Peter
You are very right about legality. Written consent of the parents of all
children will be required.

Subject: Video evidence of children's activity
Hi
Following a DSA assessment, I've been asked by a dyslexic student to
recommend a video recorder so that she can video childcare activities in
the nursery where she works (student is doing an OU childcare course).
I'm not convinced by the need for a recorder or about how useful it
would be - but that's another issue.
My main concern relates the legality of video recording children in such
a setting. Can anyone advise on this?
Any info gratefully received.
Regards
Peter Hill
