It's interesting how the laptop seems to have been handed into the
police by the shop - where is the "owner" in all this?
Was it, as reported, bought in good faith on eBay, and how did the Home
Office think they had disposed of it originally?
ps. I'm sure things like this have always been happening, it's just that
they get reported now. A secondhand computer I bought (on eBay too) had
a CD in the drive, but it was only a regular distribution disc for some
application software [CAD package iirc].
