Do the SFD Pilots have a complaints proceedure?
If they do the student could try this channel. In fact the HEI could also complain as this affects them too in terms of budget planning.
I think it is only right that the student should be given a full account of what has happened by the SFD Pilots, in BSL, so they are informed and able to partipate and challenge the decision if they feel it is appropraite to do so.
Has this sort of support been funded previously through DSA - I suspect it has. Will all of those decisions be reviewed and reversed?
Who owns the SFD Pilot - is it the DfES? Do the DfES have a complaints proceedure which applies to this case.
We need to know so that in future students and HEIs know where they stand.
We also need to know how the Student Loan Company intends to tackle this issue.
Perhaps NADP could take up this issue if the HEI is a member.
Perhaps Skill and the NUS could take it up for the student.
Those are my thoughts.
Best wishes,
Alex
